Harborlight House Volunteers



RSVP Volunteers of the North Shore seeks volunteers for several opportunities at Harborlight House, an Assisted Living Residence in  Beverly. If you enjoy spending time and helping elders and have a few spare hours of time to give, one of these opportunities might be perfect for you.




Activities Assistant Intern/Volunteer Opportunity



ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT INTERN / VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY at our Turtle Creek/Turtle Woods elder housing located in Beverly.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Activities Assistant works in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions from the Service Coordinator, and conducts a variety of activities for all residents.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY OF ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
• Conduct a variety of activities that meet the diverse interests and needs of the resident population. Programs may be held on evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled by the Service Coordinator.
• Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of activity programs.
• Engage residents in activities with courtesy, respect, and good humor.
• Purchase supplies for activities as needed.
• Demonstrate the ability to function as a team member in sharing responsibilities for the delivery of resident services in cooperation with all members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS
• HIGH School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a clear speaking voice and good telephone skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, visitors, and other staff.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Ability to speak in small or large groups.

Maintenance Volunteer



Would you like to help us keep our home and buildings looking good? Do you have skills with trades or a willingness to learn? We would be glad to talk with you. We are looking for someone anywhere from a few hours a day to a few hours a month. We have projects in Ipswich, Peabody, Beverly, and Hamilton. We can use help with basic custodial work up to high end craft work. If you have these skills, a little time and a desire to help the homes of low income people look better we would be glad to meet you!




Project Volunteer/Groups



Do you have a group looking for a service project? If you can help us with a clean up project in the Spring or Fall a special work project during the rest of the year or a recreational event for our residents at any time (barbeque, music, theater) we would be glad to talk with you.




Recreation Volunteer



Would you like to help with or run some activities at one of our low income elder buildings? We need compassionate patient people who enjoy seniors to assist with events. We are seeking people with 1-4 hours per week.




Book Donations/Book Sales Volunteer Opportunities for 2012



If you have a passion for books and volunteering, Harborlight Community Partners (HCP) would love to have your help with our Book Donation Program!

HCP raises funds to support affordable housing efforts for low income elders and working families living on the North Shore. We are seeking volunteers to help run our Book Donation Program and upcoming Book Sales. There are several different ways for both individuals and groups to lend a hand volunteering with HCP’s Book Donation Program:

Book Warehouse
Volunteers work in our Beverly book warehouse sorting, scanning, shelving and packing donated books for online sales and in-house book sales.

Book Sales
Volunteers are needed to help set up, sort and replenish book displays, greet and cash out customers. This is also a great opportunity for Corporation/Group to volunteers.

Corporate/Group Volunteerism
Corporate/group volunteerism is a great way to gather together, lend a hand and have fun. HCP can accommodate groups the Book Warehouse and Book Sales. Corporate volunteer groups at the Book Sales will receive special recognition including a table to hand out literature and a place to post a banner/sign.
